Testimonials

Each year, Bob receives countless personal letters and comments from people who want to share the way Bob impacted their lives.  Here is a sample of the variety of comments we receive:

Students

Tara, student – Dublin, OH  "I can't tell you in all the words in the world how what you said made, and makes me a better person."

Becki, student - Marinette, WI  "He taught me to laugh again.  He made me see that my pain was okay, it wasn't a crime, and that it could be helped.  It's what got me going… afterward I talked with the school counselor and ended up going to get help."

Erin, student – Cherokee, IA  "Although you didn't stress eating disorders it really hit home.  That night I told my mom I needed help…now I am in treatment for bulimia nervosa…thank you immensely for opening my eyes.  You are definitely making an impact on peoples' lives."

Reagan, student  – Hilliard, OH  "… I'm trying to accept all the hurt and anger I have because of my dad's drinking and my parents messed up marriage, but what you said at our school was really amazing. It was like I needed something to keep me going on the right track because I had felt myself slipping with temptation of drugs and alcohol again. It was truly touching and inspirational…"

Nate, student – Chippewa Falls, WI  "Bob, I would like you to know that we are listening.  Keep talking."

Faculty

Greg, youth leader – Modesto, CA  "Bob, know that you are making an impact!  And it's not just that you are a gifted storyteller, not just that your humor gets through to youth, not just that you articulate clearly what you believe, not just that you relate stories to real-life… it's who you are.  You are sincere, and you sincerely care about people. It shows.  And it reaches youth.  I know it reached mine."

Lois, school faculty – Sturgis, SD "… I cannot begin to tell you how many of the students have commented on Bob and thanked me for bringing him out here.  The general comment was, "When I heard a speaker was going to come and talk about drugs, alcohol, and self-esteem I thought, 'Oh great, another lecture'.  But he didn't lecture, instead he brought humor and gave us something to think about."  Several students said, "I wish he would have talked longer." I laugh when I hear this, because our administrators were concerned that Bob would keep the students' attention for the full 75 minutes that you said Bob would need for the assemblies.  In fact, at the high school assembly (which was held the last hour of the day) when the last bell rang, the students didn't get up and leave until Bob was finished.  Wow that is something!"

Chris, school faculty – Carson, IA  "… [Bob] will connect with the audience and hearts and lives will be changed – Oh yeah, it's absolutely hilarious too!"
